THR and THNSO announced

Please join us in welcoming our 2018 Tournament Head Referee (THR) Harm Solo and our Tournament Co-Head Non-Skating Officials (THNSO) Switzerland and Leith!!

Harm Solo first put skates on at the ripe old age of 3 and joined roller derby in 2012. Since then he has reffed over 100 games, at all levels across the entire country. Beginning as Referee with WARD, he moved to SA and joined Adelaide Roller Derby in 2015. He has worked at tournaments including previous 2012 & 2014 TGSS, Boom State Clash, Bendigo Rebellion and Royal Rumble. Harm Solo is easy going, knowledgeable and very approachable. Harm has lately developed a passion for modifying the hardware used with the CRG scoreboard software in order to fully utilise the program, which has changed ADRD’s setup to use electronic whiteboards and scoreboard screens for the team bench areas.

Switzerland brings with her more experience than you can poke a stick at – she’s been NSOing since 2011, most recently as a member of Sydney Roller Derby League. In that time she has officiated literally hundreds of games, both here and abroad. You may have seen her on WFTDA.TV officiating play-offs and champs in the US in 2016 and 2017, or you may have spotted her at the Big O in Oregon. Locally she has been THNSO at ERRD, 5×5 and Tropicarnage Cup, and a CHNSO at, well, it feels like everywhere! Switz has also been assisting with WFTDA Officiating clinics held in Adelaide and Perth. Leith is excited to be returning to TGSS for the third time – his first was as a spectator, second as an NSO and this time as co-THNSO. International career highlights include officiating at the WFTDA Div 1 Playoffs in 2016, and The Big O in 2016 and 2017. Closer to home his highlights include officiating in the TGSS Grand Final in 2016 and CHNSO at the Tropicarnage Cup Grand Final last year. Leith is looking forward to having the opportunity to work with so many talented local officials at TGSS this year! (Photo credit: Justin Thornley
